Wellness Focus
Developing community-based practitioners for empowered communities.
Aspire opened our Concord brick-and-mortar in 2006. We became a pillar of the community (winning 5 business awards) as we helped thousands of clients get strong, get out of pain, and reach wellness goals they never imagined. Our high school students got full college scholarships, our dancers took Broadway by storm, our pregnant moms had their babies in 4 pushes, and our elders stayed confidently on their feet. Our “every day” folks created new partnerships with their bodies and realized that they could create a healthier, happier quality of life and dream bigger. In 2018, we closed our brick-and-mortar to focus on partnerships to impact our communities. Aspire’s owner, Tonya Amos, founded Grown Women Dance Collective in 2009 and shifted directions to bring this life-changing wellness work to communities that usually didn’t have access. After reopening in Oakland in 2023, we now work locally, nationally, and internationally to certify teachers and are on the front lines of diversifying the Pilates industry. Our new Oakland home is developing community-based practitioners and will be a wellness power center in our communities.
